This week is not good for practicing surfing

It looks like Saturday morning before the next storm is our best hope for surf. This Christmas/New Years week thing just did not work out this year and I am trying to get my thoughts in order.

I surfed Cardiff with the boys this morning on my 10'4" 'Mark Martinson Crowd Elimator' and gave the SUP's a run for their money. It was fun but gutless. Like diet coke or sugar free cake it just did not get the job done. My drug of choice was stepped on one too many times.

Sunday - Good from Far, Far from Good

But Saturday was so good! Come on! Criminal I tell you!
This is an ongoing problem.

Here is Kirk and Paul getting ready with me. We assured Paul that it got good fast yesterday as the tide turned.



It was sunny, glassy, warm and uncrowded. With the conditions so good it was hard to put together the fact that it just was not working today. But it just closed out. Like the hot cheerleader in your freshman French class who smiles at you, it just was a smile.

The good news was that I surfed yesterday until I was scared of the stairs. And, yesterday was good.

But, I won't complain. You still feel better if you got wet.
